Experience of Using JioMeet App
-Dr. Lalit Kumar*
The Indian App JioMeet is one of the great tool for Video Conferencing today. It enhanced the workings of the each office with providing free facility to host a meeting for 24 hours at once. This feature is making it popular.
Virtual Meetings with App Development:
Today, every organization is using virtual meetings to cope up with the Covid-19 outbreak and to work from home. Everyone requires a tool to collaborate anywhere and anytime. The Environment and technological advancements are creating new opportunities and every organization wants to get benefited out of such opportunities. Let us go through the features offered by JioMeet, making it better than Zoom:
Time Duration:
Uninterrupted Free of Cost, 24 hours meeting duration is one of the best feature it contains.
Number of Meeting per Day:
In one day, unlimited number of meeting can be organized. There is no restriction over number of meetings in a day in JioMeet and it even doesn't charge for such great number of meetings.
Apart from it, all the features of Zoom App, it contains except the following, which can be its limitations in comparison with Zoom Cloud Meeting. However, the Reliance may work upon the following to improve its popularity:
Absence of Whiteboard:
The whiteboard is not available in Jiomeet while this facility is available in Zoom Cloud Meeting App.
Sharing of Complete Screen:
The complete screen is required to be shared on Jiomeet instead of Zoom's feature to select and share a window or entire screen with an option.
Private Chat is not available:
In Zoom, one can send message privately to the Host and Host can also send messages privately or even to the persons waiting outside in waiting room. This feature is not available in Jiomeet app.
Data Consumption:
Zoom consumes less data than the JioMeet. With more consumption of data, it is required to have a good quality mobile handset or laptop. More the data consumption, more temperature becomes of the device and the internet and device applications become unstable.
Only Indian Mobile Numbers:
However, it is not tested but in terms of Jiomeet, it states that it is applicable for only Indian Mobile Numbers. That is also a drawback. Zoom doesn't differentiate on such basis.
The remaining things are at par with the Zoom Cloud Meeting app. Means everyone can create a meeting, join a meeting, host a meeting as per the same functions provided in the Zoom application.
*This information is on the basis of practical experience of my use of JioMeet and detailed for suggesting improvements in the app.
